Sample Job Expectations: The Field Representative serves in an important role in theMember's Congressional District. Working closely with the District Director andCaseworker, the Field Representative acts as a liaison with federal, district,and local agencies for the Member and constituents. The Field Representativewill also be responsible for serving as the Member's community representativefor issues and programs within their assigned portfolio. Occasional travel to the Washington, D.C.office is required. Sample Job Duties:
- Ensures outreach efforts align with the District Director's and Member's strategic vision and goals
- Serves as a representative for the Member at events in the district as determined by the District Director
- Coordinates closely with the District Director and D.C. staff to ensure district priorities are reflective in legislative priorities
- Builds and maintains relationships with constituents and key community leaders and stakeholders
- Informs the District Director and the Member on up-and-coming issues in the district
Sample Requirements:
- Experience developing a community relations strategy for a Member of Congress, elected official, or Federal agency
- Strong decision-making skills
- Expertise in developing and maintaining relationships with constituents and community leaders
- Political savvy and comfortable navigating complicated situations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking skills
- Able to influence and advise people to achieve desired outcomes

- Bachelor's degree or related job experience
- A demonstrated interest in public service
- Familiarity with Member's district and/or state
