Position Type:Early ChildhoodDate Posted:9/26/2024Location:Genesee IntermediateJob Summary:The Great Start Collaborative is a coalition of diverse community voices including human service organizations, business partners, faith partners, school districts, health care providers, parents and individuals working together to improve programs and services for families with children from birth to age eight in Genesee County.Essential Duties (May include, but not limited to):Develops new relationships and cultivates partnerships with community partners to support the work of the Great Start Collaborative.Represents the Great Start Collaborative and the Genesee Intermediate School District in the community, serving on other community coalitions as applicable.Coordinates all reports, planning, home visiting programming (SKIP), and budgeting activities related to the 32p grant, NexSys Reports, MSDS reports, grand budgets, etc.Develops resources and writes grants supporting the work of the GSC strategic plan, including SKIP and the local home visiting system.Supervises and evaluates early childhood programs and staff funded wholly or in part with 32p and other grant dollars.Maintains appropriate documentation and record keeping, to ensure compliance with agency standards and State Board of Education approved criteria for the Section 32p Grant.Continues the Win-Win leadership team activities, utilizing collaborative problem solving.Other Duties:Involved with the local system of early childhood professional development, early education systems alignment and related early childhood programs and initiatives for staff, parents, students and the community.Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Center for Countywide Programs.Qualifications:Education:Bachelor's degree in education, early childhood, human services, health or related degree required. Master's degree preferred.Experience:Three (3) years successful work experience with families and children preferred. Supervisory experience preferred.Skills/Other:Ability to work collaboratively with community leaders, agency directors, school administrators, staff, parent groups, and grassroots organizations. Works successfully as a member of the team. Ability to effectively hire, train, supervise and evaluate staff. Ability to organize partners to write local, state and federal grants. Ability to utilize technology and work to maintain proficiency, as skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the GSC. Ability to utilize district technology and work to maintain proficiency, as required skill sets change with technology and/or the needs of the district. Ability to solve complex problems logically and effectively, to work independently, to manage multiple tasks and demonstrate effective time management skills. Excellent oral, written, electronic and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work a flexible workday, work week, and work year.
