Responsible setting up and producing precision ground inserts from an automated grinding work cell.Typical duties of the Operator/Engineer include the following:•Be committed, following all company safety policies and procedures to ensure commitment to 100% safe work environment.•Working in a team environment safely and operating production equipment.•Following of digital work instructions, blueprints, guidelines, diagrams, and schematics to ensure product and customer specifications and tolerance levels are met.•Executing assigned preventive maintenance (CLI) and other TPM functions to ensure continuous line operation and a safe, efficient work area.•Monitoring process and related controls to ensure adherence to production/process specifications.•Reporting any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments to correct process variation.•Align and secure tooling, holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines.•Work from and read blueprints as well as setting and checking work to various quality control gages.•Troubleshooting, determining causes of operating errors.•Perform inspection of machined products by selecting and setting up precision gaging to ensure quality specifications and requirements are met.•Communication, Teambuilding and Continuous Improvement.o Providing feedback for manufacturing process improvement.o Participating in team functions and discussions with an attitude of See it; Own it; Solve it; Do it.o Confer with engineering, supervisory, or manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.o Complete all necessary documentation, electronic data entries and communications accurately.o Move all materials, either physically or mechanically, necessary to complete assignments.o Works within standard operating procedures.Requirements:•High School diploma or GED.•Strong Knowledge in manufacturing safety, technical manufacturing (Blueprint, machining math, written communications), basic computer skills, HMI.•Critical thinking capabilities for trouble shooting, problem solving, continuous improvement and quality control.•Interpersonal skills with good communication working in team environment.•Knowledge of blueprint reading and, as well as proper use of precision measurement tools.•Efficiently and effectively receive verbal and written information.•Understand written instructions and be willing and able to communicate those instructions to others.•Read process instructions and drawings and recognize/attend to details.•Some daily and weekend overtime.•Can lift 25 pounds with frequency.•Can stand and move around on feet for entire shift.•Flexibility for over/under shift coverage.•Proficient in shop math, including geometry and conversions Trigonometry, highly desired.•Hands-on working knowledge of CNC, Robotics, Manufacturing controls and systems a plus.•Previous experience metal cutting or grinding operations in a manufacturing environment is a plus.Equal Opportunity Employer
