Grounds Keeper - Full Time - PINNACLE LIVING : Job Details

The landscaper is responsible for performing specialized and routine landscape installation and maintenance for the community. The landscaper will also facilitate and assist in the execution of resident-based landscape activities.

JOB DUTIES

* Provide specialized horticultural maintenance, including watering and pruning of trees and plants, plus installation and maintenance of flowers/foliage

* Maintain natural community areas: the preserve, pond, and trails

* Support and facilitate resident horticulture activities to include:

* Resident Community Gardeners, volunteers, and programs

* Workshops or activities related to horticulture, nature, and ponds

* Monitors and maintains the pond water feature which includes the associated chemical pumps and equipment that run each system.

* Acts as a liaison with irrigation maintenance and swimming pools/spa contractors and horticulturists on maintenance, start-up, winterization, system repairs, and monitoring of controllers and run times as seasonally needed

* Provides support to community transportation requests when an unforeseen need arises, including driving company vehicles

QUALIFICATIONS

* Minimum two years of experience in landscaping/grounds management, irrigation systems, and turf maintenance

* Broad knowledge of plants, weeds, and insects common to the area; knowledgeable with the use of over-the-counter insecticides, fungicides and animal related control products and regulations

* Valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth of Virginia

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

* Able to: lift up to 75lbs frequently in a standard working shift; frequently bend, stoop, lift, and walk, including outside on uneven surfaces; work inside and outside in a variety of settings in heat and cold.
