Grounds Worker- Residential Campus - Springbrook (NY) : Job Details

Position summary:

Provides expertise and manual skill in the areas of land maintenance, vegetation growth control, and landscaping specialties.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

* Perform routine landscape maintenance, including but not limited to: mowing, trimming, pruning, soil preparation, planting, mulching, and leaf removal.

* Perform all phases of snow removal, including but not limited to: plowing, salting, shoveling, and roof clearing.

* Operate land clearing and earth moving equipment as needed.

* Maintain work areas, equipment, and tools.

* Assume accountability for agency equipment and provide reasonable care and usage.

* Perform all activities in accordance with the latest safety practices.

* Respond to emergency situations/ call outs as required.

* Adhere to Agency Policies and Procedures.

* All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills and knowledge Requirements:

* High school or GED required. Graduation from an accredited technical/vocational program or school preferred.

* Three (3) years' experience in grounds maintenance and/or construction.

* Working knowledge of equipment and methods for lawn care.

* Working knowledge of equipment and methods for snow removal.

* Ability to meet goals.

* Ability to communicate and work within a team.

* Ability to work extended hours or respond to on call situations as needed.

* Basic proficiency in computer software and email applications.

* Meet the requirements to drive a Springbrook vehicle.

* The ability to lift 50 pounds in a safe manner
