Job Description:$500 BONUS $250 ON FIRST CHECK AND $250 AFTER 120-DAYS OF EMPLOYMENTIn this role, you will assist in the maintenance of athletic fields at public parks using a variety of machines, tools and equipment. Examples of Duties:
- Rakes leaves and clay infields.
- Paints and chalks foul lines.
- Cleans grounds and removes litter.
- Assists with the setup of fields for practices and games.
- Responsible for tools assigned to the truck and will be required to help maintain equipment by use of a checklist.
- Makes minor on-site repairs to equipment such as ball field drag, spreader, and weed trimming equipment.
- Receives instruction and training in proper safety precautions, use of tools, etc. required in maintenance.
- Requires working knowledge of small hand tools such as string trimmers, stick-edgers, blowers, and backpack sprayers.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or the active pursuit of a high school diploma, and 6 months of experience; or an equivalent combinator of education and experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of baseball field measurements and maintenance techniques
Other Necessary Requirements:
- May require evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- In the event of major storms or other emergency situations, this position may be subject to 24-hour shifts or any other emergency schedule that is necessary to meet the City's needs.
