POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs routine and extensive grounds keeping and conducts building maintenance on YMCA facilities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Outdoor Grounds Maintenance Venice, Englewood, SKY Englewood Academy, Punta Gorda, Port Charlotte CDC

* Mow all grass areas, edge, trim and blow

* Weed control in all beds

* Mulch as needed

* Trim shrubs and trees as needed

* Install plants and shrubs as needed

* Englewood Soccer Fields

* Follow plan of fertilizing and weed control.

* Venice Baseball Fields

* Mow Baseball Fields

* Maintain Equipment

* Tractors, mowers, etc.

* Irrigation System

* Periodically inspect to ensure all heads are working properly* TBD

* Other

* Assist Maintenance Staff as needed with other duties and projects as required

* Responsible for upholding all staff safety requirements including cleaning protocols throughout the day, as required by my department.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

* High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

* Able to prioritize and meet deadlines

* Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance related areas.

* Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.

* Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

* Successfully meet the association requirements on background screening.

CERTIFICATIONS AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

* Infant/child CPR & First Aid

* Annual completion of YMCA Blood Borne Pathogens training

* Annual completion of YMCA Child Sexual Abuse Prevention class

* Staff Safety Requirements/Cleaning Protocols

* Additional training classes as recommended by supervisor.

Salary Description

$18.00/hr
