About Team: Associate Digital Experience The Associate Digital Experience team supports the successful development, deployment and adoption of associate and workplace technology across the enterprise. Every day we delight our associates, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders around the world. What you'll do: Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute the strategic vision for End-User Compute, integrating both OS and Hardware engineering to deliver a seamless user experience.
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for the design, deployment, and management of end-user operating systems (Windows, macOS) and hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, AR/VR, IGEL, VDI, and peripherals).
- Drive continuous innovation in end-user platforms, including device management, software distribution, security, and user interface optimizations.
- Foster a collaborative culture within the engineering teams, encouraging innovation, agility, and a customer-first mindset.
Operating Systems Engineering:
- Oversee the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of enterprise OS environments, ensuring that they are optimized for performance, security, and scalability.
- Lead the design and development of customized OS images and configurations to meet diverse enterprise needs across different departments (personas) and geographies.
- Ensure smooth integration of endpoint management tools (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, Intune) to streamline OS deployments, patch management, and application delivery.
- Develop best practices for OS lifecycle management, including updates, patches, and retirement of legacy systems.
Hardware Engineering:
- Manage the full lifecycle of hardware engineering, from evaluation and procurement to deployment and end-of-life disposal.
- Partner with vendors and suppliers to stay ahead of technology trends, evaluating new hardware solutions that enhance productivity and user satisfaction.
- Ensure hardware platforms meet the needs of diverse user groups, considering factors such as performance, ergonomics, and security.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to manage hardware inventory, drive cost efficiency, and maintain a reliable supply chain for all end-user devices.
Security & Compliance:
- Partner with the cybersecurity team to ensure end-user compute platforms adhere to security best practices and compliance regulations (e.g., data encryption, endpoint protection).
- Ensure hardware and OS environments are compliant with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Proactively identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities through rigorous testing and monitoring.
Operational Excellence:
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across OS and Hardware Engineering to enhance user productivity, system reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure team performance, user satisfaction, and platform stability, reporting regularly to executive leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Networking, Security, Cloud, Support) to deliver integrated, high-performing digital experiences.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, ensuring they stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
What you'll bring: Proven track record in leading large, cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring effective collaboration, growth and high performance. A deep understanding of systems architecture, integration, and then entire lifecycle of systems development. Knowledge of modern frameworks, cloud technologies and scalability. Strong skills in collaborating across departments/teams where you do not have direct authority.
