You will work with the Y team's Site Coordinator to provide academic and enrichment opportunities to the kids in our YMCA Expanded Learning (ELP) program. Be willing to learn. Take action to engage and inspire students, staff, and volunteers. About the YMCA Expanded Learning Program We work with schools in West Contra Costa and Oakland to create afterschool programming that focus on student enrichment in creativity, academic, and physical play. Together, we guide underserved children and families to reach their full potential. Your Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervise groups of 15-20 students
- Plan lessons and lead daily activities (academic, enrichment, or physical)
- Record and track attendance
- Collaborate with team to create a clean and safe learning environment
Your Qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have completed 48 college units or passed the Instructional Aid (IA) Exam
- (We will offer IA Exam if the above is not met.)
- Pass DOJ/FBI criminal background check
- Have CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications within 30 days of hire

Our Commitment and Your Commitment
- Compensation: $25 per hour
- Regular School Year: Ideal candidates must be available at least 2 days out of the week from 1pm-6pm.
- Location: You must be able to act as a substitute for at least 3 locations.
