Responsibilities
This posting is for a Group Leader in the GHSE Division. The Group Leader will lead the Process Safety Engineering group within this corporate division - headquartered in Kingsport, TN. This group provides process safety engineering and support for Operations and Capital Projects (including PrHAs, LOPAs, Safety Instrumented System (SIS) Design, and Relief Device and Effluent Handling Design). The Process Safety Engineering team is located in Kingsport but provides process safety engineering expertise for any Eastman site or project globally as requested by the Site or Global HSE Division. Similarly, the group coordinates and collaborates with engineering contractors assigned to Eastman projects.
The group also provides mentoring, training, and workload management for the Process Safety Design Team in the Hyderabad, India Office.
The Group Leader is responsible for coaching and development a variety of engineers dedicated to their fields of expertise - currently a mix of chemical and electrical engineers, and balancing a complex set of high priority initiatives and projects. The group leader is responsible for maintaining relationships with multiple partner groups across the company such as Operations, Plant Engineering Groups (TNO), Process Engineering (WWEC), global site teams and Engineering Contractors.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Develop understanding of roles and responsibilities of current group members
+ Coach and develop direct reports. Ensure group capabilities align with vision and team's priority efforts. Drive continual capability development.
+ Establish annual goals for team that align with corporate and GHSE goals.
+ Support corporate risk management efforts (Red and Orange Box Resolution)
+ Support manufacturing in maintaining Zero Overdue culture (MOC, PHA action items, HSE action items) in partnership with other support groups.
+ Prioritize group workload -
+ Assign individual contributors to projects (DIET, Corporate Relief Project reviews, operations and maintenance support)
+ Assign capital project assignments (PFD safety reviews, PrHA study leader, SIS support, safety lead if needed, reviewers)
+ Assign resources for standards and training development
+ Manage interface between Capital Contractors (training / reviewing / approvals)
+ Maintain strong and collaborative relationships with WWEC, PLE, and Operations
+ Manage budget and work prioritization for Imbedded Contractor Support (S&B / AeSolutions)
Qualifications
+ B.S. in Engineering
+ Minimum of 5 years industry experience
+ Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Demonstrates ability to prioritize, make assignments, and ensure execution in a high activity environment
