WHAT WE OFFER:The County of Ventura offers an attractive compensation and benefits package. Aside from our base salary range, an employee within this position will also be eligible for the following:Educational Incentive: Incumbents may be eligible for an educational incentive of 2.5%, 3.5%, or 5% based on completion of an Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree that is not required for the classification.Bilingual Incentive: Incumbents may also be eligible for bilingual incentive depending upon operational need and certification of skill.Vacation Accrual: Initially approximately 14 days of vacation per year increasing to 19 days at 5 years of service, 21 days at 12 years of service, 22 days at 13 years of service, 23 days at 14 years of service, 25 days at 15 years of service and topping out at 26 days per year at 20 years of service.Vacation Redemption: After approximately 7 years of service ability to cash in  or redeem up to 80 hours of vacation accrued in the current year after using 80 hours in the preceding 12 months.Deferred Compensation: Eligible to participate in the County's 401(k) Shared Savings Plan and/or the Section 457 Plan. This position is eligible for up to a 3% match on your 401(k) contributions.Health Plans: You are afforded a flexible credit allowance for purchasing medical, dental, and/or vision insurance from a group of authorized plans: Employee Only - $502, Employee + 1 - $730 and Employee + 2 or more - $905.Flexible Spending Accounts: Pre-tax benefit towards eligible medical, dental, and vision care expenses.Pension Plan: Participation in the County's defined benefit pension plan. If eligible, you may establish reciprocity with other public retirement systems such as CalPERS.Holidays: 12 paid days per year which includes a scheduled floating holiday.THE POSITIONUnder limited supervision, the GSA Inventory Management Assistant III performs the manual and clerical work required for the operation of a storeroom or warehouse, including receiving, transporting, stocking, issuing, shipping, inventorying, assembling, packaging, and record keeping.Inventory Management Assistant III is the advanced journey level classification in this series and may serve as a lead person in a large centralized supply/warehouse unit with considerable latitude to plan, organize and assign work within the unit.DUTIES:Moves property from customer locations with the use of dollies, carts, bins, and pallet jacks as well as driving a large box truck following all traffic rules to deliver property to the warehouse;Serves as a resource person within the warehouse team communicating with agencies for warehouse-related activities including pickups, auction creations, managing the daily flow of stock in and out of the warehouse, as well as answering customers' questions and resolving problems;Updates postings to online bidding sites and maintains social media postings;Uses computer to update price lists, catalogs or inventory control master files by adding, deleting or revising entries to accurately present the most recent information regarding the products;Maintains warehouse and keeps working area organized and clean; operates a forklift;Maintains records related to warehouse activities for a wide variety of property, equipment or expendable supplies;Labels and stores items such as office supplies, excess property, communication parts, maintenance materials, and/or equipment by following methods appropriate for each type of item to prevent damage/spoilage and to provide easy accessibility to item;Schedules pickups and deliveries using phone, email, and manages Surplus pickup requests through SCLogic software;Receives and delivers shipments, packages, supplies, etc.;Picks and issues products using inventory control software;Orders products and supplies;May repair or perform minor maintenance on warehouse equipment by replacing broken or missing parts or sending equipment to an outside vendor for repairs or maintenance;Provides oral and written reports to supervisors and management by researching and compiling requested information;May plan, organize and assign work of lower level Inventory Management Assistants in a shift; provide training and feedback to assist the employee in learning the most effective method for completing assignments;Performs other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:Any combination of education, training or experience leading to the required knowledge, skills and abilities. This may be demonstrated by the equivalent to one year of clerical experience plus two years of experience in inventory control, storekeeping, or warehousing.OROne (1) year of experience as an Inventory Management Assistant II for the County of Ventura.NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to possess and maintain a valid California driver's license with a driving record free of violations in the last 10 years.Skilled in driving a box truck with a lift gate.Experience in providing customer service.Ability to maintain accurate inventory and surplus records using inventory management software, such as SCLogic.Ability to write clear and concise reports.Must be willing and able to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 75 lbs. assisted with equipment.Must be willing and able to stand/move/walk for long periods of time.Vision with or without corrective glasses/lenses including denoting colors.Hearing various types of equipment over warehouse noise.APPLICATIONS:Applications must be received by County of Ventura Human Resources no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.To apply online, please refer to our website at /jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
