  • Greets all persons as they enter the facility.
  • Verifies the identification of all persons entering the facility and denies admittance to unauthorized individuals.
  • Display a courteous, friendly, approachable, and helpful attitude when dealing with military service members, their dependents and all internal and external customers alike.
  • Possess alertness, tact, integrity and the ability to learn rules, regulations, pertinent laws, general and special orders and administrative procedures relating to security programs.
  • Person-to-person contacts form an important and significant part of the total work of the ID Checker.
  • Upholds a secure environment by tactfully addressing all individuals who enter the facility.
  • Reports customer complaints, deficiencies, security, or safety concerns to the shift supervisor.
  • Assures that all facility rules are being observed regarding security and safety for personnel, property, facilities and assets.
  • Maintains a clean and organized greeting station and facility entrance area
  • Assists in other areas of the facility by performing other related duties as assigned or as directed.
  • Considered essential personnel for response to emergencies or execution of contingency plans.
  • Responsible for reporting for duty as normal while the installation is preparing for natural or manmade disasters while under siege, and during post-siege damage assessment and recovery.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to effectively read, write, and speak the English language.
  • Minimum of one (1) year recent/relevant entry control point security experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to follow directions, understand work rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Present a professional image and have a neatly groomed appearance while on duty.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
  • Mobility to frequently alternate between sitting, standing, and moving about the facilities.
  • Ability to gain approval for physical access to secure military base work locations. Restrictions vary from site to site.
