Habitat and Access Specialist 2025-00071 - State of Wyoming A&I Human Resources Division : Job Details

The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission is seeking a Habitat and Access Specialist based out of Pinedale, WY. This position is an integral part of a team that develops, manages and maintains land owned and associated with the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission. This position provides habitat expertise on state, federal, and private land by means of coordination with various land managers to increase the quantity and quality of habitat for aquatic and terrestrial species. This is accomplished mainly on Wildlife Habitat Management Areas (WHMA), Public Access Areas (PAA) and elk feedgrounds within the Pinedale, Jackson and Green River Region. The position is responsible for habitat data collection, analysis and interpretation, as well as the development and funding for habitat enhancements. This position develops and maintains effective working relationships with local state and federal agencies, landowners, sportspersons, and various NGOs.
