POSITION SUMMARY: Operate the 70&90 hammer mill, separator, fertilizer plant and stone plant systems, Operator the conveyor and auger in hammer mill area, Ensure that all trucks are inspected and loaded according to instructions, Pull sample from all shipments, label samples and get them to the lab, Put seals on all hatches and record seal number on shipment where required, Coordinate production with hammer mill helpers, Collects sample twice per shift and take to the hammer mill control room to be tested.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Reporting

* Complete daily workplace inspection and lubrication reports

* Report any unsafe condition to a supervisor immediately

* Complete separator operation report

* Complete and return truck-loading ticket to scale house

Maintenance

* General maintenance work as directed

* Lubricate and service equipment around hammer mill and separator

Safety

* Attend safety meetings

* Enforce company, local, state and federal safety policies and procedures

* Maintain Company and Federal House Keeping Standards

Quality System

* Implement all elements of the quality manual

* Maintain validity of documentation affecting the positions listed above

* Maintain validity of all procedures affecting the positions listed above

Back-Up

* To back-up other Hammer Mill Operators and Hammer Mill Helpers

* To be backed up by other Hammer Mill Operators and Helpers

Perform other duties as assigned

ATTRIBUTES:

* Must be able to multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs

* Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers

* Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently

* Must possess the basic reading and math skills

* Must have good written and verbal communicate skills

* Strong record of attendance reliability

* Safety Oriented with the ability to work well within a team environment

* Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills

* Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry

* Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired

* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required

* Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes, including overtime

* Must have a telephone and be open to call-outs

* Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers

* Demonstrate the ability to operate a computer preferred

* May cross train with shipping department and must be available as needed

Physical Demands include, but are not limited to:

* Must be physically able to perform work assigned

* Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations

* Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels

* Will be working at times in covered environment but mainly in a mining environment

* The employee will be exposed to the following working conditions: Extreme Heat and Cold, Noise, Vibration, Oils, and Atmospheric Conditions such as Dust, Fumes, and Mineral Particles

* The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting

* Ability to consistently lift over 50 pounds as needed

Required Experience: A minimum of one year of previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred. Previous heavy equipment experience is desired.

Required Education: High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
