WinnCompanies is looking for a Handyman to join our team at Polyclinic, a 151-unit affordable housing and commercial property in New York, NY. In this role, you will assist the maintenance team in ensuring our properties are clean, functional, and inviting.Please note that this position offers a pay range of $21.00 to $23.00 per hour. Additionally, this a union position, which will include union benefits and compensation.Please note that training work schedule will be: Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM to 5:00PM. Once training is completed, the final work schedule will be: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM, and Wednesday, Fridays (some Mondays as needed), from 6:00AM to 3:00PM.ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting and basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance to company standards.Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping and trash management activities.Be available for on call activity during off hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.RequirementsMinimum of 1 year of relevant experience.General custodial skills as evidenced by experience in property maintenance or janitorial work.General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.Ability to adhere precisely to a strict routine maintenance schedule.Ability to speak and understand basic English.Excellent customer service skills. Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.Preferred QualificationsVocational or technical training.
