Join an elite team of engineering professionals who enable IBM customers to make better decisions quicker on the most trusted hardware platform in today's market.Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIBM Quantum is seeking talented developers to join the quantum hardware design/simulation team at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. The team focuses on delivering quantum processor and processor-adjacent designs to meet a variety of internal needs, and develops and drives the methodology to make these designs successful. Designs span in scope from exploratory research to production-roadmap quantum processor unit development. The successful candidate will work on electronic design automation (EDA) methodologies and innovative approaches for design that will enable the next-generation of scaled quantum computers. Applicants are expected to have familiarity with software engineering, microwave engineering, and relevant hardware development tools such as Keysight ADS, Ansys Electronics Desktop, Cadence Virtuoso/Spectre etc. Because the role includes collaboration between several diverse and dynamic teams of technical and operations personnel, good communication skills, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility are key.Required Technical and Professional ExpertiseAt least 2 years of experience with software engineeringAt least 1 year of experience with microwave engineering/RFIC design or similarPythonFamiliarity with layout and validation of physical designs (e.g of PCBs, ICs, custom masks etc.)Preferred Technical and Professional ExpertiseFamiliarity with electromagnetic simulation software (e.g, Ansys Electronics Desktop)Familiarity with RFIC design/simulation (e.g., with Keysight ADS or in a Cadence/Synopsys/Mentor IC design toolchain)Familiarity with high-speed board/package design and analysis (e.g., with Cadence Allegro, Altium Design, Siemens Xpedition)Familiarity with quantum computingAbout IBMIBM's greatest invention is the IBMer.
