**Must have a valid drivers' license**Position: Harvest ForesterReports to: Senior ForesterFLSA Status: ExemptPosition Overview: The Harvest Forester will be responsible for planning and executing timber harvest operations in accordance with sustainable forestry practices, environmental regulations, and project objectives.Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement timber harvest plans based on forest inventory data, stand assessments, and ecological restoration goals.
- Coordinate site preparation activities, including road construction, tree marking, and boundary marking, to ensure safe and efficient timber harvest operations.
- Oversee all aspects of timber harvest operations, including timber felling, skidding, hauling, and log loading, while adhering to safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Manage contracts with logging contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best management practices during timber harvest operations, including erosion control, water quality protection, and habitat conservation measures.
- Monitor timber inventory levels, track log volumes, and maintain accurate records of harvested timber for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and repair activities to ensure the safe and efficient operation of logging equipment, vehicles, and machinery.
- Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among harvesting crews, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, and conduct regular safety training sessions and inspections.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the proper handling, processing, and transport of harvested timber to meet industry standards and customer requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in forestry, natural resource management, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in timber harvesting operations, preferably in a restoration forestry or sustainable forestry context.
- Strong technical knowledge of timber harvesting equipment, techniques, and best management practices.
- Proficiency in forest inventory and GIS software applications for harvest planning and mapping.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
