The head camp counselor will lead a team of camp counselors at their assigned facility. The main objective is to create a safe, enjoyable, and enriching environment for the children.Camps locations may change, but are expected to take place at the following locations:

• Scott Center
• Bluffton Center
• Charles Lind Brown Center
• Burton Wells Recreation Center
• Whale Branch/Booker T Washington Center

Typical QualificationsMinimum Requirements:

• Must have valid driver's license.
• Must have a high school diploma.
• Must have at least two years of experience as a camp counselor, or five years of equivalent experience working with children.
• Must have a current First Aid and CPR certification prior to the first day of camp.
• Must be at least 18 years of age prior to the start of camp.

Experience Preferred:

• Associate's degree preferred.

Supplemental InformationAll applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
