Overview: The High School Head Coach is responsible for leading and managing athletic programs for high school students (grades 9-12). This role involves developing competitive sports teams, promoting athletic excellence, and ensuring the holistic development of student-athletes. The High School Head Coach will design advanced training programs, oversee team activities, and prioritize the safety and well-being of all participants. Key Responsibilities:
* Program Development and Management:
* Develop and implement advanced athletic programs and strategies that put kids first by providing necessary resources for success.
* Coordinate and oversee all practices, competitions, and events for high school sports teams.
* Set goals and benchmarks for athletic performance in alignment with the school's mission and values, ensuring inclusivity and diversity.
* Coaching and Training:
* Provide high-quality coaching that focuses on advanced skills, tactics, sportsmanship, and inclusivity.
* Plan and conduct rigorous training sessions to prepare athletes for competition.
* Monitor and assess the progress and performance of individual athletes and teams, ensuring equitable opportunities for all.
* Safety and Compliance:
* Ensure all athletic activities comply with school policies, state regulations, and safety standards.
* Maintain accurate records of safety protocols and conduct regular safety drills.
* Manage the health and safety of student-athletes, including first aid and emergency response procedures.
* Team Building and Leadership:
* Cultivate a positive and competitive team culture that promotes excellence, personal growth, and values diversity.
* Develop leadership skills among student-athletes and support their academic and personal development.
* Address and resolve conflicts or issues within the team promptly and effectively, ensuring an inclusive environment.
* Communication and Collaboration:
* Serve as the primary point of contact between the athletic department, school administration, parents, and the community.
* Communicate program expectations, schedules, and updates clearly and effectively.
* Collaborate with other coaches, teachers, and staff to integrate athletics with the overall educational experience, empowering the community.
* Budget and Resource Management:
* Manage the team's athletic accounts and resources efficiently.
* Oversee the maintenance and procurement of athletic equipment and facilities.
* Engage in fundraising activities and seek partnerships to support the athletic program, ensuring equitable resource distribution.
* Professional Development:
* Stay current with the latest trends, techniques, and best practices in high school athletics.
* Attend workshops, seminars, and certification programs to enhance coaching skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Education, Sports Management, or a related field is preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of coaching experience with high school students is preferred.
* Strong understanding of advanced athletic training methods and competitive sports.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
* Certification in first aid and CPR, as well as any certifications required by the Arizona Interscholastic Association.
* Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and equitable athletic environment.
Work Environment: The High School Head Coach will work in a school setting, involving both indoor and outdoor activities. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required to accommodate practices, games, and events.
Terms of Employment
* Salary commensurate with the Governing Board approved coaching salary schedule.
* Hours per day as determined by the specific assignment.
* Benefits as assigned for this position.

* Valid I-9 form.
