Job Overview:

The Head Grower (HG) will be responsible for conducting, directing and coordinating growing activities of young plants or starter plants. These activities include but are not limited to implementation of crop cultural protocols including pest control, fertilizer, PGR applications, crop scheduling, and other phases of growing and production. The HG ensures the production of plants of proper quality, as required by the production planning schedule, in a cost efficient and environmentally sound manner. The HG will lead and develop our growing team as well as oversee greenhouse operations.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

• Minimum 3 years experience in greenhouse growing
• BS degree in Horticulture or related field
• Excellent time-management skills
• Ability to effectively plan and prioritize
• Ability to communicate clearly and calmly
• Knowledge of modern greenhouse operations and environmental control systems
• Knowledge of large scale commercial plant cultivation including crop rotation management, nutrient requirements, media, light requirements and environmental control systems
• Accountability, proactive behavior and strong attention to detail.

Pay: $50,000 - $75,000 per year
