- New YorkSummary of Position The Head of Global Markets Operations (GMO) is responsible for ensuring the accurate, compliant, and timely processing of all business transactions and activities within the Operations team. This role encompasses strategic planning and change management, ensuring that personnel and processes evolve in alignment with the dynamic business landscape and overarching group strategies.Reporting to the Head of GMOare various teams, including Trade Support, Back Office, Middle Office, Treasury, Client Relations, and Regulatory Operations (RegOps). The Head of GMO oversees approximately 50 staff members, including five direct reports, while also managing outsourced labor through third-party suppliers.Key ResponsibilitiesPrincipal Operations Officer: Serve as the Principal Operations Officer for the US Broker Dealer, ensuring robust governance to support all relevant SEC and FINRA requirements.Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance with regulations from the Federal Reserve and NYS DFS, ensuring that all banking regulations and reporting are supervised with strong controls to maintain data quality and meet obligations accurately and on time.Departmental Independence: Foster an independent departmental environment that enables accurate and timely processing of activities by competent and confident staff who can operate autonomously from senior management. This includes:
- Identifying necessary processes and workflows, with a keen focus on detail and inherent activity risks.
- Implementing and refining processes efficiently to minimize complexity and risk.
- Selecting and training the right staff with the necessary skills for their roles.
- Identifying and implementing automation where appropriate.
- Establishing higher-level, exception-based monitoring of processes, staff capacity, risks, issues, and customer service quality.Collaboration: Collaborate with senior functional managers across the firm in the US, Natixis Paris headquarters, and other regional offices.Budget Management: Manage a budget of $10M+, ensuring a balanced allocation across processes, staffing, automation, regulatory compliance, risk controls, and costs.Documentation: Create and maintain procedural documentation for all processes, controls, and oversight to meet:
- Internal and external auditor expectations.
- Departmental training and information reference.
- Business continuity and recovery planning.Staff Development and Retention:
- Mitigate key-man risk through cross-training of critical functions to ensure continuity and competence.
- Cultivate multi-dimensional capabilities in staff to enhance knowledge breadth and depth, optimizing utilization and value.
- Encourage staff innovation and solicit ideas for process improvement.
- Foster an environment that communicates opportunities for growth, aligned with the firm's goals and staff aspirations.
- Promote a culture of partnership and interdependence, inspiring staff to feel challenged and enthusiastic about their roles and future at Natixis.
- Actively seek and incorporate feedback from staff to ensure they are engaged and satisfied with their personal development.The salary range for this position will be between $225,000 - $280,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.BA/BS degree 15+ years of experience in both capital markets and commercial banking operations. 5+ years in senior management roles within operations, including leadership responsibilities for other senior operations staff and collaboration across Front Office, Finance, Compliance/Legal, Risk Management, and IT. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and drive operational excellence. Effective communication skills to convey complex information to diverse audiences. Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels, fostering a collaborative work environment. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with a track record of making sound decisions under pressure. Adaptability and resilience in navigating change within a dynamic financial landscape. Conflict resolution skills to manage and address team dynamics effectively. SIE, Series 27, and 99 certifications are preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr
