This individual will lead our collections team, develop strategies to improve cash flow, and ensure the timely collection of accounts receivable from clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections within the logistics, transportation, or drayage industries.Key Responsibilities:
  • Leadership and Strategy:
    • Lead and mentor the collections team, fostering a high-performance culture.
    • Develop and implement effective collections strategies to optimize cash flow and reduce overdue receivables.
    • Set and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the collections department.
    • Collaborate with senior management to align collections strategies with overall company objectives.
    • Collections Management:
      • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the collections team, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
      • Manage complex and high-value accounts, providing guidance on resolution strategies.
      • Conduct regular reviews of accounts receivable aging reports and prioritize collection efforts.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients to facilitate timely payments and resolve disputes.
      • Ability to effectively manage in a remote environment over multiple time zones.
      • Process Improvement:
        • Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices in collections and accounts receivable management.
        • Utilize technology and automation tools to streamline collections processes and enhance efficiency.
        • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
        • Reporting and Analysis:
          • Prepare regular reports on collections performance, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
          • Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on data analysis.
          • Monitor the effectiveness of collection strategies and adjust as necessary.
          • Collaboration:
            • Work closely with the sales, customer service, and operations teams to address billing issues and improve client satisfaction.
            • Collaborate with the finance team on cash flow forecasting and budgeting.Qualifications:
              • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.
              • 7+ years of experience in collections, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
              • Proven track record of success in collections within the trucking, logistics, or intermodal drayage industry.
              • Strong understanding of accounts receivable processes and best practices.
              • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
              • Superior communication and negotiation abilities.
              • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with collections management systems preferred.
              • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The actual base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and other factors permitted by law.
