As the Head of Facilities, Maintenance, & Repair in the Maritime Industry, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety compliance of marine facilities and equipment. The position will also require security duties that follow USCG requirements. This role requires leadership, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to ensuring the efficient and safe functioning of marine infrastructure and equipment in accordance with national regulations and industry standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan, execute, and oversee facility-related projects such as renovations, upgrades, and expansions, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance program for all terminal facilities to minimize downtime and extend the lifecycle of equipment and infrastructure.
- Lead, manage, and develop the maintenance and repair team, including technicians, supervisors, and external contractors.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and vendors to execute civil works projects efficiently and within set timelines and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards in all civil works projects.
- Manage the inspections of marine infrastructure, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the Operations team to prioritize critical equipment and systems for repair or replacement based on operational needs.
- Monitor expenditures, track facility-related costs, and implement cost-saving measures where applicable without compromising safety or operational efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and budget status for senior management.
- Continuously monitor weather forecasts and snowfall patterns to proactively plan snow removal and ensure a timely response to changing conditions.
- Understand and follow CFR 33 Parts 105 and 126.

Salary: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (5 years) in management within the marine industry, focusing on Facilities, Maintenance, & Repair, and general civil works.
- Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with operations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair within maritime environments.
- Proven expertise in overseeing and managing general civil works projects in marine facilities.
- In-depth understanding of industry regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards specific to the US maritime sector.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in relevant software for documentation, reporting, and facility management.
- Experience working in a Marine Terminal.
- Experience working in a union environment.
