Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced learning leader to play a strong leadership role within our broader People team. Reporting to the VP, Talent Experience, the Head of Learning will provide the overall strategic direction and management of the learning function. The scope of this role includes identifying learning priorities (in partnership with business leaders), designing and delivering programs and resources to address those needs, and developing approaches to measure the efficacy of our learning investments.
The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative and both a strategic thinker and doer who can build on our existing learning foundation and help fuel Chartis' next stage of growth.
Responsibilities
As an integral member of the People Team, the Head of Learning will work with leaders across the firm to assess the training needs of the organization and design and implement high impact programs to enhance the capabilities of individuals, teams, and leaders throughout the firm.
Design and implement a long-term learning and development strategy that reflects best practices in learning design and delivery and is tightly integrated with the firm's overall talent strategy.Conduct a comprehensive learning needs assessment and prioritize the development and implementation of programs to meet firm, client, and colleague needs.Build upon the firm's learning curriculum by leading the creation of content that addresses a wide range of competencies, including but not limited to problem solving, analytics, communications, leadership, and other business fundamentals.Build innovative delivery channels and content to optimally support the firm's distributed workforce (e.g., blended learning, technology-enabled/asynchronous learning).Design and deploy approaches to accelerate AI-based learning, in partnership with the firm's technology leaders.Promote and influence the firm's values, culture, and performance expectations through learning and development programs, partnering with People team leaders to embed learning practices in broader talent approach.Identify and train internal faculty to support the delivery of learning programs.Oversee learning operations, including program logistics, budget development and tracking, and content management.Oversee the measurement of learning program impact; continuously identify opportunities to enhance the return on investment in learning and development programs.Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including business leaders.Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing learning team.Collaborate with outside partners to develop and deliver programs as needed.Qualifications and Desired Skills
The successful candidate is a talented individual with a successful track record operating in a highly dynamic professional services environment. This role requires strong people and process management skills, with the ability to balance strategic and tactical responsibilities.
Specific qualifications include:
At least 10 years of experience in a professional services learning & development role, including at least 6 years leading a learning function.Bachelor's degree in business or related field required; Master's degree preferred.A deep understanding of and experience applying adult learning principles.Experience across multiple learning channels (e.g., classroom, asynchronous/technology-enabled).Experience designing and developing learning experiences using industry standard authoring tools.Strong understanding of emerging AI trends related to learning.Demonstrated experience leveraging learning analytics to measure the effectiveness of learning programs and identify trends.Experience in instructional design, with demonstrated success in developing creative, highly interactive and experiential training programs across a range of competency areas and role levels.Experience developing high-impact, multimodal leadership development programs.Exceptional facilitation skills, with ability to lead workshops, training sessions, and large-group discussions effectively virtually and in-person.Experience implementing and working in a Learning Management System.Experience with Strengths Deployment Inventory (SDI); certification a plus.Excellent project management skills; ability to manage details while maintaining a big-picture view.Strong critical thinker with proven ability to think and act strategically.Strong business acumen; proactively evaluates approaches and impact through both a learning and business lens.Outstanding communication skills, including proven ability to negotiate, influence others, and lead change.Organizationally agile, with ability to pivot approach in response to evolving business needs, organizational priorities, and colleague demographics and development opportunities.Strong leadership presence and credibility with firm leaders.Effective collaborator who builds strong relationships and effectively gains buy-in across the organization.A high level of “emotional intelligence” as demonstrated by the ability to build trust and rapport, show empathy, read others, and listen exceptionally well.Commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and feedback-driven improvement for self, team, and the firm.Salary range: $180,000-$250,000 plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs.
