The Turkey Markets business is a material business sub-cluster within Middle East and Africa (includes Central Asia) (“MEA”) Markets. The Head of Markets for Turkey is a senior-level position reporting to the MEA Markets Head, responsible for leading and implementing a fully integrated Markets strategy for the country, in coordination with Global Products, CCO, Regional management teams, and Risk partners.
Responsibilities:
Leading a diverse team of Markets professionals in TurkeyDriving a revenue growth strategy across all Markets products and client segments whilst ensuring sound risk-takingStrong oversight and governance of ALCO proceedings and engagement with business stakeholdersDevelopment and enhancement of Citi's onshore capabilities including proactive management of onshore balance sheet and liquidityProposing and supporting the execution of our overall Markets client strategy (origination, execution, risk) across products and client segments including international portfolio investorsCoordinating with the CCO, Banking, Independent Risk and Finance, while also monitoring and managing the various Market risk-taking activities performed in the countryManaging senior-level Markets-related local Regulatory relationships, maintaining a sound risk & controls environment, and fostering a culture of inclusion, transparency, strong governance, and complianceKey Role Responsibilities:
Responsible for driving growth for Citi MarketsSetting an aspirational business strategy and implementing it for the MarketsAligning the Turkey Markets business strategy with Markets productsIdentifying gaps/opportunities and challenges and working with Sales Heads and Products on product enhancementOwning and maintaining senior external interfaces with RegulatorsRepresenting the Markets franchise throughout CitiDriving client value by being closely aligned with sales heads and maintaining senior client connectionsLeading reviews of resource allocation for country and cross-product business initiativesMaximizing organizational execution of key initiatives and business review processesLeading strong governance and controls:
Building a culture of responsible financeCreating appropriate governance, controls, and complianceWorking in close partnership with control functions and ComplianceEnsuring partnership with Finance to deliver the annual financial planning/budgeting processHuman Capital Management:
Leading the Markets People Strategy including talent reviews for critical rolesPartnering with HR and regional product heads to ensure alignment of people strategy with business strategyEnsuring cross-product oversight and governance of headcount, hiring, and workforce planningProviding direction and oversight of talent processesExperience, Skills, and Capabilities:
Strong connectivity with local market participants including corporates, regulators, banks, asset managersIn-depth experience with Markets clients, risk management, and product suite including Rates, FX, Commodities, Equities, Credit, and Structured FinancingIntegrity, credibility, and gravitas to lead and influence a diverse populationStrategic thinker with the ability to translate a vision into executionSuccessful track record of creating momentum and leading a collective agendaTeam worker with leadership skillsGood interpersonal and communication skillsEducation:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experienceMaster's degree preferredOther:
