BAE Systems is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Product Safety (HOPS) to lead the development and implementation of Product Safety and Environmental (PS/PE) strategies across the Electronic Systems Sector. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of product safety and environmental regulations, as well as experience in leading cross-functional teams and developing training programs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop and implement PS/PE strategies aligned with Sector, Inc. and PLC policies and objectives.

* Monitor and improve the effectiveness of the Product Safety Management System.

* Prepare and present Quarterly Safety Review (QSR) materials to senior leadership.

* Monitor and analyze PS/PE metrics and trends.

* Collaborate with Safety Health & Environment to ensure alignment of objectives and coordination of communications.

* Prepare OAS responses and Action Plans for Product Safety.

* Support Inc audits, ES Policy & Process Compliance Audits, and ISO14001:2015 SHE Environmental Management System audits.

Because of the need for intermittent in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform a portion of work onsite, this position will be considered hybrid. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 50% or more of the time, as well as remotely when applicable.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

* Bachelor's degree in technical or engineering discipline and 12+ years direct experience, or equivalent.

* Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance

* Strong leadership and motivational skills

* Ability to understand and develop PS/PE strategies at Sector, Inc. and PLC levels.

* Strong communications skills ranging from technical briefings to executive level presentations.

* Working knowledge of Product Safety & Environmental Standards and regulations

* Thorough understanding of the ES Engineering Process and its intersections with PS/PE

* In-depth understanding of Life Cycle Management processes and related guidance materials

* Working knowledge of Model Based System Engineering and related tools

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including Root Cause Analysis for Accident Investigation

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

* Active Top Secret Clearance

* Knowledge of ISO14001:2015 SHE Environmental Management System and AS9100D Quality Management System

* Experience in participating in Independent Design reviews and Phase Reviews as PS/PE Assessor

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $164000 - $278800

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
