Location: Melbourne, Victoria or Sunshine Coast, Queensland

Reporting to the Consumer Sales and Marketing Director, the individual is responsible for leading the Consumer Sales division for McCormick Australia, including retail, foodservice, eCommerce, New Zealand, and export. They will set the customer and channel engagement strategies to maximize category opportunities, incorporating branded products, private label products, and new channel development. The Head of Sales will coach and develop a high-performing commercial team, lead the customer interface, and ensure execution excellence through the McCormick field team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies aligned with the consumer division strategy and brand plans to achieve sales, gross margin, profit, and market share objectives for McCormick Brands and Private Label.
  • Lead the national relationships with key grocery retail partners and other channels (e.g., Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Costco, Foodservice, New Business, etc.).
  • Coach and develop a high-performing commercial team of commercial managers and field sales team.
  • Ownership of demand forecast in the Integrated Business Planning cycle, providing input to the operating plan and strategy.
  • Management, reporting, and budgeting of all trade investment, discounts & terms.
  • Develop a high-performing commercial team and coach cross-functional teams where appropriate to drive a high-performance culture.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in business or a related discipline.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience with a proven track record in developing and successfully implementing winning sales strategies and accelerating business growth in global organizations (FMCG or related consumer product categories).
  • Quick to build relationships and leverage for negotiation or needs.
  • Ability to motivate others to achieve results and deliver against commitments without formal authority.
  • Proven experience working successfully in cross-functional teams with the ability to influence and network effectively to manage interdependencies and the matrix.
