This role is responsible for managing all Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings and ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, accounting standards (GAAP), and internal controls.Role Responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all SEC reports, including but not limited to Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, and proxy statements, ensuring compliance with SEC rules, regulations, and U.S. GAAP.
- Ensure accurate and transparent financial disclosures, meeting the company's regulatory and investor expectations. Lead the drafting and review of financial statements and footnotes for SEC filings.
- Serve as the primary contact for external auditors in matters related to SEC reporting. Work closely with auditors and the finance team to facilitate a smooth audit process and ensure timely completion of audits.
- Maintain and enhance internal control processes related to financial reporting and ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
- Work closely with the legal, investor relations, and accounting teams to ensure alignment of financial disclosures and support broader financial communications, including earnings releases and investor presentations.
- Drive continuous improvement in the SEC reporting process, implementing best practices and leveraging technology to streamline reporting and enhance accuracy.
- Monitor and assess the impact of new accounting standards, SEC regulations, and reporting requirements. Lead the company's response to regulatory changes, ensuring compliance and adapting reporting as necessary.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of financial reporting professionals. Foster a high-performance culture with a focus on accountability, accuracy, and professional growth.
- Provide leadership on special projects related to mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, or other initiatives requiring detailed financial reporting and disclosure.Experience / Competences:Essential
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA qualification is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting or financial reporting, with at least 5 years in a role directly responsible for SEC reporting within a publicly traded company or Big Four firm.
- Expertise in U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and the preparation of financial statements for public companies.
- Strong understanding of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements related to financial reporting.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor a team of accounting and financial professionals in a high-pressure environment.
- Advanced proficiency in financial systems, including ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday) and financial reporting tools (e.g., Hyperion, Onestream, Workiva).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.Desired
- Experience in a large, publicly traded, multinational company.
- Experience managing large-scale projects, including system implementations or significant process overhauls.
- Knowledge of capital market activities and how financial reporting impacts investor relations and market communications.
- Experience in financial reporting for mergers, acquisitions, or public offerings is a plus.
