As we expand our efforts, we are looking for a Head of Sustainability to join our team and drive our environmental and social initiatives.

The role:

As the Head of Sustainability, you will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's sustainability strategy. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker who is passionate about driving change within the FMCG industry. You will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure our sustainability goals align with business objectives and meet industry standards. This role offers a hybrid work setup, combining weekly time in-office work in New York, NY, with remote flexibility 2-3 days / week.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategy Development: Lead the design and execution of the company's sustainability strategy, focusing on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects.
• Program Management: Oversee all sustainability programs, including reducing carbon footprint, waste management, sustainable sourcing, and community engagement initiatives.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams (R&D, supply chain, marketing) and external partners (NGOs, regulatory bodies, and suppliers) to drive sustainability efforts.
• Reporting & Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and industry standards. Prepare and present sustainability reports to internal and external stakeholders, including the board and investors.
• Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement new sustainability initiatives that align with emerging industry trends and consumer expectations.
• Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing sustainability team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in sustainability roles within the FMCG or related industries.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability strategies.
• In-depth knowledge of ESG frameworks, climate change policies, sustainable supply chain management, and circular economy principles.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in sustainability reporting and metrics (e.g., GRI, CDP, SASB).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in leading and mentoring a team, with a focus on collaboration and driving results.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
