Job Purpose:
- Manage Trade Finance Area of the Branch, ensuring processing of transactions efficiently and within established turnaround time.
- Liaise with FTC- NY Team in Dubai and provide guidance /instructions where needed to ensure that TF transactions / loans are handled within established time frames, without any complaint from the customers
- Liaise with FI-Sales Dept and provide expert opinion/advise on new products/ transactions.
- Ensure implementation of laid down guidelines, documented policies and procedures and U.S. regulations especially BSA/ AML, OFAC, Anti-Boycott, BIS, GLBA and all the other US regulations. Conduct EDD on the exporters and non account holder banks.
- Manage entire operations of the Branch in absence of the Country Manager, acting as his back-up.
- Coordinate with AFLG, Head Office, providing MIS and other required clarifications/ documentation in his capacity as Branch Coordinator
Key Result Areas:
- Ensure that the guidelines of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA)/ AML, OFAC/Anti-Boycott /BIS/GLBA and/other US regulations are strictly complied with. Interaction with the regulators on the important matters.
- Ensure systematic work distribution for optimum load sharing and productivity.
- Manage and process work to meet quality standards and compliance with requirements of ICC publications/SOP/OPM/APPM/ US regulations.
- Coordinate with OPS, Dubai to ensure service quality and productivity standards.
- Interact with OPS, Dubai and business groups to resolve customers/transactions' issues and ensure smooth flow of daily work.
- Review & update Standard Operating procedure (in coordination with GM, whatever required) to simplify work flows and to ensure that they are workable (practicable), standardized, cost effective and cover bank risks adequately.
- Analyze SDS MIS received from Operations Division (NY Team) at Head Office to ensure that they are meeting SDS and are in compliance with SLA.
- Coordinate with Operations Division (NY Team) at Head Office ensuring that Complaint Resolution System and culture is set up, responding to inquiries and attending/resolving complaints thus maximizing customer satisfaction.
- Analyze Errors/ Complaints/ Inquiries MIS received from Operations Division (NY Team) HO to determine root cause of problems and recommend controls needed to fix the gaps to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Prepare and ensure implementation of staff training plan to develop their skills and competence in order to perform assigned tasks accurately as well as efficiently and facilitate their career growth.
- Actively participate in all AML committee meetings providing meaningful recommendations/ feedback on all issues discussed therein.
- Raise URF for any issues faced in the System(s) with EDP.
- Conduct testing of new system (s) and/or enhancements in existing systems and provide test results.
- Contact and meet customers for the sustenance and enhancement of the business.
- Contact potential customers for negotiation/confirmation, whose LCs are received by us for advising. Also, to see if we could further pursue them in handling their additional business.
- Take actions and make decisions for the issues related to customer service and resolution of related problems within Bank's policies and procedures.
- To work very closely with the branch/RMs and HO for getting things done, issues resolved, and decision solicited related to customers' business/transactions, when required.
- As an Internal Control Officer be in touch with all the areas of the branch and obtain the information for the review and preparation of Management Information Package for reporting to ARCG
- Attending to inquiries/calls promptly with the information and clarification required by Internal Audit Group
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
- Thorough in depth understanding of Asset Services related matters.
- Understanding of SWIFT and the Trade Finance and financial operating systems.
- Knowledge and familiarity with prevention of money laundering, OFAC and Terrorism Financing Areas.
- Ability to plan and organize workflow.
- Good communication, leadership, and conflict management skills.
- Well-developed interpretational skills for the ICC publications.
- The position requires a minimum of 5 – 10 years bank operations experience out of which minimum 3 – 5 years at managerial level.
- Knowledge of BSA/ US Patriot Act/ OFAC, BIS and the other applicable US Banking Laws/ regulations.
- Awareness of working of departments of the operations as an Internal Control Officer
