ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Organize and conduct practice workouts that are developmentally appropriate, well organized, and build progression throughout the course of the season.
- Organize the teaching/training of individual swimmers on technique (i.e., strokes, starts, and turns).
- Develop a team culture that is focused on Youth Development, which rewards effort and commitment, not just results.
- Schedule, organize, and administer home and away meets, make sure all paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
- Manage staff & volunteers and their performance, plan, schedule and evaluate staff/volunteers, hire, orient and train staff/volunteers, coach employees to foster growth opportunities and complete required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Work with Dolphin Parent Group to assist with organizational and administrative functions and attain fundraising objectives to support Dolphin Swim participants.
- Develop and implement swim team recruitment and retention strategies, to include direct involvement in publicity and press releases, frequent team tryout/placement events, and involvement with AYCC swim lessons.
- Prepare and analyze enrollment trends.
- Maintain team equipment in working order and ensure that all assets are well kept.
- Serve as Lead Coach for the AYCC Masters Swim Club
- Schedule, organize, and administer home and away meets, make sure all paperwork is completed and submitted on time.
- Stay current with developments in the field of competitive swimming.
- Assist in hiring, training, supervising and evaluating staff & volunteers.
- Develop and implement club recruitment and retention strategies.
- Prepare and analyze enrollment trends.
RequirementsSKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
- Must be able to work independently, motivate others, and follow through with the implementation of policies set forth by the AYCC and Board of Directors, and the USAS and YMCA swim programs.

KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Recreation Management, Physical Education, or related field.
- Any swim coach certifications of completion.
- Must possess or be able to attain any required certifications (i.e., First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding) and USAS registration.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-3 years experience coaching swimmers with a variety of skill levels, preferably with a YMCA/USAS team.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time, 30 or 40 hours. Work hours are based on practice sessions and meets and vary throughout the year. Includes mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. Salary Description $19.50 - 21.94 per hour
