Head Varsity Football Coach- SY 2025-26 - Nelson County Public Schools : Job Details

PRIMARY FUNCTION: To develop and implement an exemplary football program that will effectively provide the best possible education for each student athlete. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Applicant should be eligible for a fulltime position with Nelson County Public Schools. 2. Applicant preferably will have at least five years coaching experience at the Varsity level. 3. Applicant should have three excellent references. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Professional Performance 1. To comply with school and board policies regulations. 2. Virginia High School League work cooperatively total staff. 4. relate positively to parents other community representatives. 5. demonstrate professional growth. 6. be prompt accurate required records reports. 7. demonstrate command of standard English, both spoken written. 8. accept responsibilities outside the football team as they relate to community. 9. assume responsibility for care of materials, equipment facilities. 10. To a neat, safe environment for student athletes committed to the coach's care.

Instructional Interpersonal Relations: (a) practice promote positive interaction among student athletes, the community. (b) demonstrate enthusiasm for learning. (c) demonstrate an interest in the overall athletic program. (d) encourage self-direction and self-motivation in students. (e) create clearly defined standards behavior academic performance. Subject Matter: (a) demonstrate knowledge of the area being coached. demonstrate the ability to adjust instruction of strategy fundamentals to student athlete's needs interests. Planning/Materials: (a) maintain an organized football program based on effective long range plans. exhibit evidence of effective planning organization. utilize a variety of appropriate strategies resources. Techniques/Delivery:(a) communicate fundamental expectations and its importance to students. (b) varied techniques learning activities. To maintain an effective system of monitoring student progress to inform appropriate persons. Program Management: (a) discipline to a learning situation. use positive reinforcement and constructive criticism to maintain good student discipline.
