Health Aide - MAINE SCHOOL ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICT #75 : Job Details

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To provide school health services according to School Board polices and under the direction of the School Principal and School Nurse.

• Assist in student Health Care Activities.
• Provide first aid for students.
• Assist with the maintenance of health and/or first aid records.
• Assist with School Health Screenings.
• Assist with the inventory and ordering of school health supplies.
• Perform specific health care procedures with training.
• Reports problems of an immediate or emergency nature. (In the absence of the School Nurse, report will be issued to the building Administrator)
• Dispense medications according to annual training provided by the District and in accordance with the Department of Education laws and School Board policy.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrates sound judgment and effective communication skills.
• Respect and protect the confidentiality of students, staff and families.
• Maintain necessary certifications for CPR and First Aid.
• Demonstrate basic organizational, computer and clerical proficiency.
• Maine Dept. of Education Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) Authorization, or ability to obtain.
