Job Description :

We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Health Care Assistant to join our team in our dental, medical and behavioral health department, located in Mansfield, OH. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. As a Health Care Assistant, you will be responsible for efficiently and accurately registering patients, verifying insurance information, and assisting with any administrative tasks related to patient intake.

Full-Time: Monday-Friday

Wages: Starting at $15.50 per hour

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

  • Maintains standards of service excellence by following AIDET. Provides and promotes a professional, positive climate within the workplace.
  • Receives calls and schedules appointments.
  • Verifies insurance ahead of time for scheduled appointments.
  • Answers/screens telephone calls and forwards to appropriate personnel.
  • Records phone messages and distributes appropriately.
  • Accurate data entry of patient information.
  • Sets up payment plans and/or contracts with patients for high balances
  • Accepts patient payments and records accurately. Maintains acceptable level of collection rates.
  • Processes medical records according to procedure.
  • Understands patient rights and HIPAA privacy rule.
  • Type correspondence, memos, notices, reports accurately.
  • Operates standard office machines and equipment
  • Produces necessary agency and patient printed materials/notices for distribution.
  • Cross-trains in other areas of office procedures and actively participates in committees and meetings as assigned.
  • Complete all required training and competencies within a timely manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
  • Experience with EMR/EHR (Preferred)
  • Experience with customer service (Preferred)
  • Experience with office duties (Preferred)
  • Experience with insurance verification (Preferred)
