About the EmployerWe are a unified school district serving more than 16,150 students in grades K -12. Eligibility is determined via an evaluation and competitive screening/scoring of a candidate's training and experience as demonstrated on the application and responses provided in the supplemental questions.Job SummaryJob SummaryBASIC FUNCTION: Under the supervision of assigned administrator and direction of a credentialed District nurse, perform specialized physical health care services for students; travel to various school sites to perform a wide variety of health care duties and student health monitoring; prepare and maintain a variety of health records; assist teachers and other staff in the instruction, supervision and training of individual or groups of regular and special education students; maintain a healthy and safe environment for students and staff.View Job DescriptionRequirements / QualificationsUnit: CSEA Number of Vacancies: 6 (4 to 6 hour positions available) Classification Hours/Months: 4 to 7.75 hours /10 Months (180 days/Student Attendance Days) CSEA Salary Range 127 - Step A $27.79 (Min.) to Step F $35.57 (Max.) Promotional/Open * The promotional group as well as the general public may apply. The promotional side of the eligibility list shall take precedence when certifying eligibles. ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS UNTIL FILLED REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & LICENSES: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school or equivalent, supplemented by college-level course work in nursing or related field and two years related health care experience. Possession of a valid California license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN), valid California driver's license, and a valid First Aid/CPR certification.EXAMINATION: The selection process will consist of a competitive application, supplemental and resume screening, and scoring (pass/fail). If your application is accepted to move forward to the oral panel examination (weighted 100%). A passing score must be achieved on the application as well as the oral panel exam.
