Under the general guidance of the school's Office Manager, our Health Clerk/Office Aide helps provide direct health services to students and staff as delegated by District RN; promote preventive health practices for students; documenting student visits/treatments/outcomes; while providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student treatment and/or medications. West Ridge Academy is a K-8 Core Knowledge Charter School. We are a tuition-free open enrollment charter located in Greeley, CO. We feature small classrooms (capped at 28) where we teach character education through our eight Pillars of Virtue. Essential Functions: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily:
- Provide temporary and emergency care for sick and injured students or staff according to district policy and procedures
- Ensure all students are State compliant with Immunizations
- Serve as health advocate for students
- Notify parents of accident or illness and secure medical care for students in emergency cases (if parents or emergency contact cannot be reached)
- Administer medications according to district policy and procedures
- Participate in the promotion of preventive health practices as directed by District RN
- Provide health counseling and instruction on an individual basis
- Serve as health liaison between school physicians, parents, and community
- Assess student problems and make appropriate referrals working with students, teachers, parents, and the medical and health care community as needed
- Communicate regularly with principal and lead nurse regarding health services issues
- Send out referrals for failed hearing/vision screenings. Update, track and login Infinite Campus
- Maintain AED equipment at campus/building
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required by the state and the district
- Sign off on field trips ensuring medical needs and delegations are covered
- Ensure all student athletes are eligible by recording dates of physicals to Sports Log
- Assist RN and Administrators in obtaining and interpreting student health data for Child Find, Special education assessments and 504 accommodation plans
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed to maintain clinic inventory
- Report potential health and safety hazards to Principal and/or Executive Director
- Comply with district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations
- Adhere to the district's safety policies and procedures
- Comply with all FERPA laws
- Comply with mandatory CART reporting
- Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance

Qualifications Profile
- High School diploma or GED
- Current CPR Certification (American Red Cross)
- Successful completion of State Medication Training for School Aged Children (COTRAIN)
- Successful completion of School Health Clerk Class within 1 year (through District)
