Job DescriptionPerforms assembly and analysis of all types of medical records. Maintains communication with other hospital departments to improve and problem-solve the flow of medical records.
- Performs re-route and final checking of medical records in order to adequately maintain the physicians delinquency lists.
- Answers the phone and handles requests from patients, healthcare providers, hospital staff and others regarding the release of health information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Adheres to regulatory requirements regarding the release of Protected Health Information.
- Prepares charts for scanning.
- Scans patient health records into electronic medical records and performs quality checks to ensure each page is properly scanned and that all pages are legible.
- Performs physician suspension letters as needed.
