Your Impact as Health Safety Environment Coordinator / SHE Manager
You will be the primary communicator of the SHE messages to employees and management within the plant; major responsibility includes encouraging employee involvement with EHS activities.
- Develops, implements and manages the local SHE program in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Department of Transportation (DOT) and all other federal, state, and Bekaert policies (OSHAS 18001, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) standards, and Total Environmental Care (TEC) program)
- Integrates and supports Corporate, Group, and North America EHS initiatives designed to drive best practices across Bekaert.
- Conducts inspections in order to generate and turn-in various reports for federal and state agencies in order to fulfill regulatory requirements these include: Monthly Wastewater Treatment report to Rome POTW; Semi-Annual VOC Reports for Air Permit; Annual Hazardous Waste report; SARA 311, 312, 313 reports; TEC report; and Annual Sludge Permit renewal. In addition, provides monthly Safety Score Card and Environmental reports to corporate office.
- Manages and documents all Hazardous and Non-Hazardous DOT shipping manifest.Ensures Hazardous DOT shipping manifest are signed by authorized personnel.
- Facilitates process and provides technical and administrative leadership to ensure compliance with the local, state and federal EHS requirements, as well as the facilitation of the Plant Environmental, Health & Safety Steering Committee.
About You
Essential skills & competencies
- Bachelor's degree in an Environmental, Health, and Safety field or Environmental Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years related managerial experience in the manufacturing industry is desired. However, regulatory experience and equivalent combination of education may suffice for managerial experience.
- Personal computer skills are essential especially in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAP.
