Job Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our team within a large manufacturing facility. The EHS Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring compliance with EHS/OHSAS standards and fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility. This position is pivotal in driving initiatives that align with company goals while adapting to evolving business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to EHS programs, including ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/45001 standards, and maintain compliance with all applicable government regulations and policies.
  • Regulatory Reporting: Complete or oversee the timely and accurate submission of required regulatory reports.
  • Safety Advocacy: Develop, implement, and promote proactive EHS systems, policies, and procedures to enhance safe work practices across the facility.
  • Performance Metrics: Generate, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics to measure progress and evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Training and Development: Organize and conduct EHS training programs for employees, ensuring awareness and compliance at all levels.
  • Issue Resolution: Identify, monitor, and assist in resolving environmental, health, and safety issues, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Operational Control: Lead efforts to establish and maintain key EHS operational controls, ensuring timely resolution of action items.
  • Leadership Support: Advise and collaborate with leadership and other EHS professionals on EHS-related matters, including data gathering, problem-solving, and providing guidance on best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory and compliance obligations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (intermediate to advanced skills).
  • In-depth knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001/45001 standards and requirements.
