Health Specialist

Head Start ( is seeking a highly qualified health professional to oversee Head Start and Early Head Start health program components.

As Health Specialist you will:

+ Develop, update, and implement service area plans, policies and procedures

+ Ensure that the Health and Mental Health programs are in compliance with Head Start and Early Head Start performance standards, licensing requirements, and contracts

+ Train and advise managers and employees on health care requirements

+ Supervise Mental Health Coordinator and Health Consultant

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in health, nutrition, or a related field; LPN (RN certification preferred); two years' experience in public health or early childhood development; valid New York State driver's license.

Pay Range Guide:

+ Standard Start Rate - education and experience meet job requirements

+ Advanced Start Rate - education and experience exceed job requirements (subject to approval)
