This position requires a flexible work schedule including availability for evening and weekend events and activities. **This position is a temporary non-permanent position, expected to last 6 months, with the possibility of extending.**The Health & Wellness Center Manager reports directly to the Director of Athletics and is responsible for the coordination, planning, and support of the Health and Wellness Center in their goal to offer services that enhance an environment centered on student success, and provide cultural enrichment opportunities for students through exposure to, and involvement in, an array of diverse experiences and events.The Health and Wellness Center Manager works with both the Athletics and Instruction in promoting the Health and Wellness Center, the College Athletic program, and the Physical Education program. This position is responsible for the supervision of the Center and its patrons. In addition, the Manager is required to provide a welcoming, inclusive, safe and enjoyable, service-oriented environment for participants at all times. What You'll Do Key ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and duties of the Health and Wellness Center Manager include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversee and manage the Health and Wellness Center operations, to include facility oversight of the gymnasiums, fitness center and classrooms, weight and multipurpose rooms, lockers rooms, laundry facilities, and other campus recreation facilities.
  • Work with the Instruction Division to support physical education program classrooms related to instructional activities, including set-up and equipment needs. Utilizing campus reservation system, ensure correct setup of all Health & Wellness Center rooms prior to scheduled reservations, ensuring proper equipment setup, functionality and maintaining of all equipment, and a generally professional appearance of the space for all Instructional needs, as well as events and activities.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise and support all game management and Health and Wellness Center staff, including student-employees, and volunteers for various recreational organization and roles.
  • Work with the Student Life Department to create and support intermural activities within the Health and Wellness Center.
  • Create, maintain and inventory Health and Wellness Center supplies and equipment, inclusive of Physical Education program equipment. Work with Assistant Athletic Director, departmental Fiscal Specialist, and Instruction Division to ensure accurate and timely procurement of materials and services.
  • Assist with coordination of all revenue and expenditures of the Athletics Department, to include balancing the cash box from event ticket sales and preparing bank deposits.
  • Assist with varying social media platforms providing promotion of the athletic department, photography, information, and community outreach.
  • Assist in providing a holistic and academic support services that seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness that contributes to increased student persistence and completion of student-athletes.
  • Build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and students in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain good working relationships with other college departments and personnel. Work as a collaborative team member on a wide variety of tasks and projects.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the College's diversity goals.
  • Serve on various college committees, as needed.
  • Assumes other duties falling within the scope of the position, as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
Qualifications You PossessMinimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or program from an accredited college or university
  • Two years of professional experience in the Health and Wellness field.
  • Supervisory/management experience.
  • Playing and/or coaching experience in Women's Soccer and/or demonstrated leadership role within Athletics.
  • Demonstrate commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well with others, and function as a team member.
  • Requires manual dexterity and mobility. This position may require moving boxes and equipment weighing approximately 70 pounds.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Actively contributes to a work environment that embraces diversity and uses diverse perspectives to enhance the attainment of organizational goals.
DesiredQualifications
  • Master's Degree in related field or program from an accredited college or university.
  • Advanced knowledge of computers and software applications, specifically MS Office suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks, maintain office confidentiality and accommodate numerous interruptions.
  • Experience as a Head Coach (and/or Assistant Coach) at the Club, High School or College level.
  • Experience with monitoring budgets and performing reconciliations.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in evaluating situations, solving problems and making decisions.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of intercollegiate sports rules and regulations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of intercollegiate recruiting practices.
  • Demonstrates commitment to a philosophy of promoting student success.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the Northwest Athletic Conference policies and procedures.
