Healthcare Cash Posting Specialist - Physicians Dialysis : Job Details

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: This position accurately posts cash deposits to patient accounts and general ledger accounts.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all inclusive.

• Accurately apply payments to the appropriate patient claims and/or accounts in various billing systems and/or General Ledger accounts
• Balance all posted amounts to check and batch amount; troubleshoot as necessary; resolve any out-of-balance conditions
• Research difficult Remittance Advices for resolution to avoid posting to the misapplied cash accounts
• Research specific General Ledger accounts as needed

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required
• Prefer candidates with experience in the healthcare industry
• 1-2 years of experience with insurance, data entry, and collections
• Ability to analyze and interpret information on Remittance Advice (RA)/Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
• Know, understand, and comply with all department and company policies and procedures including all SOX documentation and practices
• Experience with posting payments
• Knowledge of medical coding
• Ability to interpret explanation of benefits
• Experience with Excel reports including formula use, pivot tables and other advance skills
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
