JOB SUMMARY It is the job of the Eco unit Technician I to meet or exceed Kreher quality standards by assisting the WCE team under direct supervision in basic electrical and maintenance activities, and in performing the duties relative to the installation, repair and troubleshooting of electrical/electronic equipment. The Eco unit Technician I is working to learn how best to fix, install and maintain electrical and mechanical components on the Eco units. The Eco unit technician I is working to develop their technical skills and provide assistance to the WCE team. including the duties relative to programming and troubleshooting of electrical components, PLCs. Ability to work on Boilers and heat exchangers, knowledge of plumbing. JOB RESPONSIBILTIES The main objective of the ECO Unit Technician I responsibilities is
  • Daily Monitor and adjust Eco unit system settings for operational efficiency
  • Identify & diagnose problems with mechanical & electrical systems that could affect environmental conditions
  • Troubleshoot issues with PLC, HMIs, VFDs which includes Setup, configurations
  • Create equipment Bill of Materials (BOM) and make recommendations for spare parts needed in the preventative maintenance schedule.
  • Perform PM task on each boiler system
  • Perform PM task and cleaning of the Preheaters
  • Performs timely repairs of electrical and Plumbing components of the Eco unit.
  • Fine tunes Eco unit parameters to make more efficient and / or solve problems.
  • Perform cleaning cycles on the Eco unit holding tanks, baffles, filters actuators.
  • Setup up unit summer and winter operation
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents.
  • Acts as a team player (supports and encourages co-workers).
  • Shows flexibility; cross trains within department, moves to different areas, etc. as needed.
  • Treats management, co-workers, and employees with respect.
  • Complies with Kreher's Policies and Work Rules, as well as federal and state laws (attendance, etc.).
  • Practices safety and complies with policies and procedures.
  • Looks for opportunities to improve safety, prevent accidents, and help make the Egg Farm a safe place to work.
  • Performs other duties as requested.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Capabilities and traits essential to perform satisfactorily An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical systems, electronic systems, and mechanical systems and how they interact with each other.
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot PLC ladder logic or other PLC-based code to resolve complex problems and/or optimize machine performance.
  • Able to trouble shoot, replace, and program VFDs.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and repairing of the following electrical circuits:
120/208 single and 3 phase power circuits, 480/ 277 single and 3 phase power circuits Control circuits of various voltages.
  • Familiarity and experience with both digital and analog circuits.
  • Understands and know the functionality of a multimeter
  • Understand the fundamentals of plumbing systems including heat exchanger and boilers
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook as well as other work-related software.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and report technical information.
  • Has a knowledge of commonly used electrical/mechanical concepts, practices, and procedures within an agricultural or similar environment.
  • Is a lifelong learner with an attitude of continuous learning about the operation and servicing of various equipment, systems and processes utilized on the farm.
  • Has strong interpersonal skills; able to work well with all colleagues.
  • Will be required to work extended hours as needed, available for emergency response.
  • Has a 'can do', positive attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Technical training in electricity and maintenance or equivalent experience.
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in related field is a plus
  • Minimum of three years maintenance experience in an agricultural or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLC & HMI programming.

  • Hours may be long and irregular.
  • Practices safety and complies with all policies and procedures.
The physical work environment is an agricultural farm environment with attendant noise level. However, the employee will often be exposed to:
  • Dust and dirt associated with agricultural farming Excessive noise levels associated with a processing plant and machinery.
