Our client has been supporting the marine construction industry for over 75 years providing solutions for above and below the waterline whether that be commercial diving, marine construction, or crane rental and rigging.They are a growing Hampton Roads based company with a highly collaborative and dynamic work environment. Their team members work vigorously to meet customers' needs. No two days are the same. They are currently on the hunt for a veteran to fill the heavy equipment mechanic role based in Hampton Roads. The ideal Heavy Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for maintaining and repairing company equipment from cranes (lattice boom and hydraulic), winches, compressors, large pumps, boats and auxiliary equipment to include onsite repairs as well as in the shop repairs.Duties and responsibilities:- Complete understanding of all aspects of heavy equipment repairs and rebuild process- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical problems- Repair lattice boom and hydraulic cranes to include mobilization and de-mobilization- Perform related mechanical duties as assigned- Maintain and submit maintenance records of all repairs- Follow all company and work site safety policies and procedures- Performs other related duties as assignedRequired skills and abilities:- Minimum of five years of experience as heavy equipment mechanic- Must have own tools- Ability to pass a background check for shipyards- TWIC card- Valid driver's license and clean driving recordEducation and experience:- 2 to 5 years of experience with diesel/heavy equipment repair- Welding experience (a plus)- Manual dexterityBase salary, $75K - $110K, with weekly overtime, a company vehicle, and full benefitsHere is a chance to work for a family-owned Hampton Roads industry leader, providing solutions above and below the waterline since 1949.
