Summary:Deseret Cattle & Timber is looking to hire a hardworking Farm Equipment Operator to join our crew. The ideal candidate takes initiatives to solve and analyze problems, as well as prioritizes safety while operating farm equipment with a high degree of proficiency to accomplishneeds of the ranch. The Equipment Operator is also expected to complete regular maintenance, repairs, and preparation of equipment for production operations.Responsibilities: Support various assignments and tasks with a high degree of quality and efficiency. Take initiative to solve and analyze problems; find ways to continually improve processes and efficiencies. Operate a variety heavy equipment safely and with skill, including challengers, dozers, tractors, loaders, and track hoes. Perform regular maintenance, repairs and preparations for production operations. As needed, during planting and harvest, step in as lead which entails organizing other operators, assuring daily goals are met, as well as coordinating with management and mechanics regarding needs and conditions. Partner with the Field mechanic on rebuilding equipment and more complex issues. Champion a safety culture by keeping current with all safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures and attending all trainings; verify all devices are functioning at all times including lockout-tagout procedures. Qualifications: 3-4 years of heavy equipment experience operating large (250+) horsepower tractors for at least 3,000 operating hours. Proficient in use of a variety of farm equipment (track hoe, motor grader, dozers, dump truck, loader, tractors, etc.) with experience maintaining and repairing ag equipment. Some experience operating GPS guidance systems Solid interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team to maximize efficient utilization of key resources: people, equipment, etc. Ability to effectively communicate with peers and supervisors. Positive attitude with attention to detail and power of observation. Must possess a valid in-state driver's license. Meet the physical requirements of the role which includes occasional lifting up to 70 pounds, bending, kneeling, and twisting throughout work period. Occasional long-term standing, sitting, and walking during work. Able to work an average of 45-50hours per week, which may include weekends, holidays, and evenings.
