Heavy Equipment Operator - Waste Connections : Job Details

Waste Connections of Arkansas is looking for a safety conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join the team at our landfill in Cherokee Village, Arkansas. In this position you will be operating equipment including a trackhoe, compactor, off road dump truck, tractor. Additional duties include being a spotter, keeping the facility clean, pulling and compacting trash, and hauling dirt. This is a physically demanding position and does require working in all weather conditions.Schedule: Monday - Friday, occasional Saturday's. 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.Pay: $19 - 21 per hour, depending on experience.Responsibilities:

• Operates backhoe, landfill compactor and front end loaders as required
• Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping and related assignments
• Ability to operate 40-ton trash trucks including hydraulic equipment such as tail gates, hoppers, and packers is a plus!
• Performs routine inspection and maintenance on vehicles such as checking oil, water, and tires
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have Dozer and Trackhoe Equipment operating experience. Experience with MS Word, Excel is a huge plus. Waste Connections is an equal opportunity employer.
