Job Description:

Theoris Services is assisting our client in their search for a Helpdesk Technician to add to their growing team near Bloomington, Indiana. As the first point of contact, the IT Support Specialist will have a vital role in communicating professionally and efficiently to ascertain the nature of the request, resolve issue where possible, or escalate to the appropriate team(s) when necessary. The IT Support Specialist will also participate in software system implementation projects as well as various other site projects requiring IT participation.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 1 and 2 Helpdesk onsite support, troubleshoot end user hardware and software issues and contribute positively to our customer service, incident, and request service level agreements
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows-based computers as well as applications, printers, digital signage systems, tablets, and general IT hardware
  • Assist with day-to-day maintenance tasks including but not limited to systems deployment, patching, monitoring, reporting, design, documentation, and other duties as they arise
  • Provide support to Critical Production/Enterprise Applications
  • Provide support to multiple lab computers and systems, including assisting in system implementations
  • Assist with software deployment and configuration
  • Support, configure and maintain IP and non-IP phone system
  • Install, configure, test, document, and maintain equipment, including computer software and hardware, scan guns and label printers
  • Coordinate or perform hardware repairs and warranty repairs and replacements
  • Troubleshoot a wide variety of issues leading to efficient and productive solutions
  • Support remote and onsite user.
  • Document, develop and contribute to ongoing IT process improvement
  • Perform responsibilities within established regulatory and security compliance criteria
  • Ensures compliance with policies related to computer security, maintenance, and deployment

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant technical experience, in a customer-centric environment
  • Knowledge of VMWare vSphere 5.5 and higher
  • System/security patching experience
  • General knowledge/experience with Data Center management, maintenance, and best practices
  • Familiarity with DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP network protocols and Wireless communications
  • Experience of working with IP based telephony devices
  • Experience of working with and supporting Active Directory, including user and group management
  • Involvement in successful IT projects, implementations, upgrades and regular support activities
  • Understanding of relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels and connecting nodes to a network
  • Experience of working with Office365 and its various applications such as Exchange Online, OneDrive and SharePoint
  • Technical knowledge to support operating systems such as Windows XP – 10
  • Hardware technical knowledge to resolve laptop and peripheral issues
  • Ability to install and terminate network cabling
  • Patience and experience working with non-technical users
