**Job Title: Construction Technician**

**Job Description**

We are looking for two Construction Highway Technicians to assist in duties such as installing roadway guardrails on highways throughout the greater Jacksonville area. Candidates will have daily experience installing guardrails along with signs, handrails, and crash cushions (attenuators) for DOT projects on active highways and roads.

**Responsibilities**

+ Install roadway guardrails, signs, handrails, and crash cushions (attenuators) on highways.

+ Use hand tools for digging and attaching guardrail beams to posts.

+ Handle and install materials, including loading and unloading them from a flat-bed truck or trailer.

+ Dig holes for the installation of guardrails.

+ Operate power tools, such as a 10-inch core bit or larger.

+ Cement guardrail legs into place.

+ Drive larger trucks like Ford F-450s and possibly pull a long trailer with guardrail materials.

**Essential Skills**

+ Minimum 1+ years' experience working on highway construction (Commercial/DOT experience preferred).

+ Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively.

+ Experience in handling and installing heavy materials.

+ Mechanically inclined, capable of using hand and power tools to install nuts/bolts of guardrails.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Clean driving record.

+ Reliable transportation.

**Work Environment**

The work environment includes highways, roads, and streets in the Jacksonville area. The shifts are Monday to Friday, either from 7 am to 5 pm or 7 pm to 1 am, depending on traffic regulations. Contractors must have availability to work both days and nights.

This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, Florida.
