Position Summary:Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway/heavy contractor looking for a Highway Heavy Superintendent to join our team. The Highway Heavy Superintendent position is a vital role within our organization. This position is responsible for hiring, maintaining and training competent crews, managing schedules daily, weekly and beyond. They communicate with estimators and customers when work will be completed. Our main office is located in Mendota Heights, MN. BR also has plant locations in Inver Grove Heights, Shakopee, and Columbus.   • Attend weekly scheduling meetings/schedule jobs.
  • Provide leadership and maintain a positive/safe working environment
  • Coordinate a project schedule with customers, superintendents, estimators, foreman and public
  • Coordinate all proper safety signs and equipment/personnel needed to complete a job
  • Maintain good relationships/communication with employees and public for efficient job progress
  • Identify project conflicts and come up with a timely/accurate solution and communicate with field personnel
  • To oversee all phases, form initial planning to the completion of the project
  • Anticipate personnel/equipment/tools needed to effectively keep a job moving
  • Quality management - ensure our final product is at or above BR and customer standards
  • Educating - constantly listening and learning from seasonal veterans and passing knowledge on whenever possible
  • Communication - Making sure information is given and received to appropriate personnel on a daily basis
  • Teamwork - having a good attitude every day. Crews morale goes a long way in the overall production and quality
  • Mentor and train in employees.
Preferred Experience/Education:
  • Computer skills
  • 5 years of Highway Heavy experience
  • Highway Heavy foreman experience
  • Management classes
  • Maintenance classes (on mill)
  • Operator experience Safety awareness (MMUTCD, OSHA understanding)
