MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1) High school diploma or equivalent;2) One (1) year technical training from vocational school in truck and equipment operation and maintenance OR two (2) years' experience in highway maintenance or construction related work;3) Valid CDL Class A driver's license without the following restrictions E,L,M,N,Z or valid CLD Class B license with the ability to obtain a valid CDL Class A within 6 months of employment;4) Negative pre-employment drug test (continue to be subject to drug testing per Federal CDL law).DUTIES: Responsible for performing skilled highway maintenance work with a variety of heavy equipment, highway specialized equipment and managing assigned routes for snow and ice control with tandem trucks. Responsible for decisions on traffic control zones and signing. Position requires a one-hour response time for call to duty in any storm or emergency event.Hours: 40 hours/week; Monday-FridayCompensation and BenefitsCompensation rage for this position $26.25 to $34.25 per hour depending on experience. This position is eligible for a wide range of competitive benefits, including state pension plan, vacation time, sick time, personal and holiday leave time. In addition, the position is eligible for the County's health plan, consisting of three health plans and carrier options; Dental, Vision, and Life insurance; Health Savings and Flexible Spending accounts; Long-term and Short-Term Disability; Supplemental Accident, Hospital, and Critical Illness plans; and Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. The County contributes monthly health benefits to aide in the rising of insurance costs with the contribution rate evaluated annually. Additionally, employees have the option to take part of this $734.15 monthly contribution as cash in lieu of benefits.
